We want everyone to be able to use our website https://dieselrust.com well, regardless of disabilities, device or assistive technology. This statement describes where we stand.
Voluntary statement
We publish this statement voluntarily. Since 28 June 2025, the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) applies to certain products and services for consumers. Micro-enterprises, i.e. businesses with fewer than ten employees and an annual turnover or annual balance sheet total of no more than 2 million euros, are exempt from these requirements for services (Section 3(3) BFSG). As a micro-enterprise, we fall under this exemption. Nevertheless, we want to make the website as accessible as possible.
Goal and status
We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. In our assessment, the website currently partially meets these requirements.
What we do
- A "Skip to content" link leads directly to the main content.
- Header, navigation, main content and footer are marked up as such, and the language of each page (German or English) is declared.
- All functions are meant to be operable with the keyboard; the keyboard focus is clearly visible.
- If you have enabled "reduce motion" in your system, we turn off animations and smooth scrolling.
- The layout adapts to small screens.
Known limitations
- Content from the game server: Texts in the Live radio feed, in leaderboards and in the field manual come from the game. They may contain special characters, symbols or colour coding that screen readers cannot render meaningfully.
- Live data: Player counts, countdowns and the Live radio feed update continuously. Not every change is announced by screen readers.
- Graphical displays: Displays such as gauges or history charts are not yet fully available as text everywhere.
- Third-party services: Signing in with Steam, checkout at Tebex and embedded content from YouTube or Twitch are beyond our control. The respective providers are responsible for their accessibility.
